So after being here since June, we FINALLY went to D.C. I went a month or two ago with my friend but just to a museum and Sean didn't get to go. Ever since one time we drove into D.C on a friday night, I was too scared. The drivers here are captial CRAZY! So that is why it took us this long to finally go. This time Sean, Jaiden, and I got to go and were there for 7 hours walking around!!! We started at the Capitol, hung out with the President and first lady at the White house, skipped, hopped, and jumped to the Lincoln Memorial, slowly walked ourselves to the Washington Memorial, and finally ended up dragging ourselves back to the Capitol where we parked. It was cool to see people playing sports at the MALL. This is the grass and walking areas within the museums and in the middle of all these monuments. Oh, we also had the chance to visit the Vietnam memorial wall to see one of Sean's relatives names. It was all super awesome. We got our running around and walking in for the day. We were all SUPER exhausted by the end of the day. It was a bit chilly too, so it was nice to be able to not sweat to death and finally get to wear a sweater.
Sean and Jady outside of the Lincoln Memorial. There was a rally or something that morning so there was huge amounts of trash everywhere. It was disappointing to see all the trash people left, but it was being cleaned slowly but surely.
Sean and I have ALWAYS wanted to see the Lincoln Memorial. It was so cool to finally see it. Abe was good to us. If it wasn't blocked off I would have gone up there to sit on his lap, pregnant and all. And believe me, it wouldn't have been an easy climb.
I used my super lens to see if any Obamas were in the balcony. This is not the lens pic I used, but there was no one anyways.
Sean and Jady in front the our nations capitol. the grounds were beautiful, Jaiden loved running all around, and Sean loved listening to all the Korean tourists.
Next time we go we will probably line up the awesome museums we want to go to. There are so many and they are huge. We had a great family day outside, getting lots of walking in, and being able to see what all the fuss has been about.
