5 Day Weekend

Last week after getting home from a super short trip to California, 2 days after Nixie and I returned, Sean had to go TDY to Alabama for 3 days and 2 nights. Since he was flying in on one of the holiday weekends off, he got an extra day off. On friday when he got in we took Jaiden to her first movie in theaters. She has actually been to 2 others but only as a baby when Sean ended up standing with her most of the time. We went to see Car 2 in 3D. She kept her 3D glasses on almost the entire time and this is counting the 25 minutes of previews PLUS the movie. She LOVED it and did such a great job. She sat in her chair until about 10 minutes to the shows end. Pretty dang great for a 2 1/2 year old. Nixie did great too!
Saturday we woke up at 3:40am and loaded in the car just to head out to Ocean City. It is almost a 3 hour drive just to get to the beach. But since I grew up going to the beach and living so close I couldn't resist. Plus I didn't have to drive. We went with our wonderful friends the Prices. We spent all day there and got home just in time for a tubby and dinner. We all passed out we were so tired. Sunday we went to church, got a nap, had dinner, and went to bed. Monday for the 4th we went to the parade field, rode some rides, took a nap, ate and played at a friends, put the girls down to sleep, and Sean and I sat outside to watch the fireworks from our backyard. It was perfect. Then tuesday we headed out to the Baltimore Aquarium and just happened to park in Little Italy right next to our favorite bakery and gelato place. YUM! Another good nights sleep for us!

Nix loves when Sean holds her. He doesn't get to very often cause she is either sleeping, eating, or Sean is playing with Jaiden. She was thrilled! (and yes that is drool ALL over her. Pretty sure the teeth will be coming in soon)
Jaiden and Sean in their 3D glasses. We figured since we paid an arm and a leg for a freakin 3D movie, we were gonna keep the glasses. Who knows when we will ever use them, meh.
On the 4th of July we went to a friends house, ate, and played on the playground right outside. Jaiden loved the swings and LOVED when I ran under her and launched her up. It scared Sean a bit, but it was all good. Jaiden can hold her body up on the bar and just hang there now. If there weren't kids waiting for the slide she would have done it all day.
It was finally tubby time and we got all clean. Nixie gets geri-curls after the tubby. She might just keep that curly hair of hers. Where did that even come from?
It was the BEST weekend we have had as a family in a long time. Every minute was so great and the girls were both in good moods just about the entire time. We kept them busy and we ALL slept very well at night. I look forward to another on before Sean goes off to training. I love this little family of mine and cherish every waking (and sleeping) second I get with them. Life goes by too fast and it is a bit frightening but I look forward to eternity with them and our others kids waiting for us in Heaven to join us in the years ahead.
